N-400 ( based on 3 years rule )

06/10/2014 : sent the N-400 package

06/13/2014 : package was delivered

06/18/2014 : Check Cashed

06/23/2014 : Notice Date

06/23/2014 : Biometrics letter mailed

07/01/2014: Walk-In Biometrics done

07/17/2014: Biometrics appointment

07/30/2014: received yellow sheet for pre-interview on 08/04

10/20/2014: In line for interview

10/23/2014: scheduled For interview

10/27/2014: received Interview letter

12/02/2014: Interview passed

01/14/2015: US citizen :)

Hey guys I have a question. I had my wallet stolen around Christmas time which had my permanent resident card in it. I had to file form I-90 to proceed with this N400 application. Well I had my I90 biometrics appointment on 1/20 so about a week ago. At the appointment I asked the officer if these biometrics could be used for my n400 application. He stated that they were two different applications so they would require their own biometrics. He also stated that if I had a biometrics letter for n400 he could do both that same day. I hadn't even received my n400 NOA at that point so that was a no go. I read that biometrs are kept "on file" for 15 months on this and other sites so I am not sure if I should be expecting a biometrics appointment letter or not. Does anyone have any insight on this?

Technically you are right that they are kept of file for 15 months, but they almost always ask you take them again for the N400.
