Submission of forms/payment - NVC vs IVU

I am a US citizen and we are applying for my wife to get an IR-1 (201-b) visa. Our petition has been approved. We completed the DS-260 online. The medical exam has been scheduled and we are awaiting our interview confirmation letter.

However, we are a bit confused: We have obtained all of the required supporting civil documents. But is is very unclear whether we now need to submit copies of these documents to the NVC, or whether we simply provide them to the IVU at the London embassy when we attend out interview.

So do we just need to take the documents to the interview, or do we need to sumbit them and pay the NVC before an interview will be arranged?

NVC only requires copies of civil documents, and you bring the originals to the interview

Revising my answer because I didn't see your reply first. You are doing DCF so skip the NVC. Take your documents to the interview.

There is a separate forum for DCF. you can also change the visa to read CR1/IR1 (DCF) so that appears by your post. Then you will get answers specific to your filing.

Don't forget there is another online form to submit besides the DS-260. See step 4 in the instruction link. You didn't mention that and without it, they won't assign your interview.

Thanks - I called the NVC and they said no I did not need to send docs or pay anything since the Embassy is handling it. They acknowledged that it was confusing that the form we received said to submit document to the NVC which is why we got confused!
