VB for February is out and another three weeks movement. So Tired of waiting for VB to be current in this category.

My wife will get her citizenship soon and we'll be upgrading to IR1.

Can someone tell me how long the upgrade takes as soon as she notifies NVC. my petition is approved already.. Will I have to be approved again after the upgrade?

Actually they just need the email , you just have to scan it and send to NVC. How long ? It takes weeks. Your case will not need to be approved again it will just continue to process.

It will take a week or two before they open the email and it will be another few weeks till they review and confirm it.

We are in a similar situation - my wife naturalised early dec, we sent the docs via email and still haven't heard anything - we phoned the nvc, they were less than helpful.

Any ideas on timeframes? as nice as Ireland is, we wanna move to sunny FL now haha, too cold here :P

You should hear from them in about a month from when you sent them the email.

I need to ask you a question plz.

How long did you wife's naturalization process take from start to finish... Could you have done it faster and how long do you think it would take

She did hers in South Florida - it took from August to December so all together a little under 4 months.

I think that is the standard amount of time - I think the longest wait was for the interview from the notice of application being accepted.

4 months may seem long, but it isn't really as you're always looking to do the next thing eg prepare for the interview or the oath etc

Sent the naturalization certificate copy on Nov 26 to upgrade from f2a to IR1. Till now heard nothing. The reps at NVC are of no help regarding this. All they can say is to wait for 60 days.
