AOS Not Yet Submitted but wants to work as Freelance

I arrived in the US with a K1 Visa last August and got married in the same month. However, we have not submitted my AOS application by this time. I already have an SSN that has a note "Valid for work only with DHS Authorization" and I wish to accept some freelance projects that I can do. I am always asked to provide my SSN in getting these projects and I fear that I might not be allowed to work since I have not submitted AOS application yet.

Does anybody know what this DHS note mean on my SSN card? Do you think I can accept freelance projects? If you know of links where I can get more information about this please post it in your comments. Thank you very much!

Meaning you need to have EAD.. and DHS was the one.issued that ID... You can have your EAD free if you will apply AOS together with.that...

As long you earn $$$, you need EAD, I believe it has something to do with Tax. You earn money, you pay tax. That's how it goes.

As long as you fulfill the Marriage within 90 days upon arrival, you are fine. No deadline for AOS but imagine you can't apply for DL, you cant work, you cant travel outside US.
