No Vaccine shot from SLEC

Hi!

I finished my medical today and during the immunization interview I was asked of series of questions like the others, the doctor saw my injection mark (the injection I got when I was a kid and cannot remember the type of vaccine), I also told them that I got a couple of rabies shot last month because I was bitten by a stray cat but I wasn't able to show them my records because I didn't have it. After the interview the doctor put "no vax" on my receipt.

I am not sure if that is normal because most thread I read here got at least one shot.

Hope someone can share their experience if SLEC didn't give you any vaccines.

thanks in advance

Did the doctor write that in general or onthe line for a specific vaccine requirement?

As IR-1 you need your shots before you get on the plane. Unlike K-1, you have no option of getting it here.

If the problem is that SLEC did not have it in stock, as they frequently do not, you have the option of getting it from them at a later date.

UPDATE: I received some info that maybe you can wait until the US to get it. I am not sure if what I am reading is true, so I am checking into it.

There are certain vaccinations that are required before the visa can be issued. You need to check the list of required vaccinations to insure you have gotten the required vaccinations. At this point I believe/my opinion is that something is wrong. You should have gotten some vacs that are required. You need to get back in touch with SLEC and ask more questions until you are satisfied with the answers.

Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of SLEC physician. Only a SLEC physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition. There is a possibility that the SLEC physician found you only needed the one and that is why they recommended getting it completed in the USA. If it were me, I'd make the phone call and get this settled.

Check against the list here with your copy of the 3025. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/vaccinations.html

Vaccination Requirements

U.S. immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations prior to the issuance of immigrant visas. See Vaccination Requirements for IV Applicants for the list of required vaccinations and additional information.

SLEC didn't give you vaccine maybe it's because of your rabies shot...

yeah when I got the chance to ask that is what they told me so I have to get my vaccine on April, and they assured me that there will be no problem.

I just hope that next time they will explain it without the patient asking. The doctor who asked me was too busy talking to other staff giving her "pamasko"

anyway at least I got what I needed without any problem.

thanks everyone who answered my inquiry. Best of luck everyone and I hope you enjoy your holidays :)
