K1 - Tier 2 Agents

Good Morning All,

This is probably a question aimed at people who have been able to get in touch with a Tier 2 agent at USCIS. Yesterday my fiancée dialled National Customer Service Center on
1-800-375-5283 and asked to speak to a Tier 2 in regards to our case. The person on the phone spoke to her like she was crazy, said there was no such thing and gave us the usual standard lines.

We are wondering is this the correct number to call? Also has anybody got any tips about how to get through to a Tier 2 agent - maybe how to word the question to USCIS?

As always, any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Just call back until you get someone willing to pass you onto a tier 2 person. Sucks, but that's what you gotta do.

Tell them you need details and answers that are case specific and need your call escalated so you can speak to an actual immigration officer that has access to your case info.

I had no issues getting a Tier 2. I called the number you listed, gave all of my verifying details to the Tier 1 and just told them straight out 'I apologize if this sounds rude but can you please transfer me to a Tier 2 agent. I have already spoken with Tier 1's who are unable to help.' I did also mention I had submitted an inquiry through my Senator (which I did) so that may have made her just transfer it anyways.

I got a lovely women on Tier 2 after a 60 minute hold time. She didn't give me any lines "you are within the time frame at Texas" even though we are past 5 months.. not "just be patient"... none of that. She told us that our case was in the last stages but had not yet been assigned to an adjudicator, that it was last touched on November 14 and that she sees the ARN changed back in July even though the website and automation no longer lists the change. She offered to open a case inquiry for me, to which I agreed.

The case inquiry showed on our account a day later when we logged into USCIS case status and clicked into the receipt number (touch date won't change), though it still shows it hasn't been assigned to be looked at. The Tier 1 did ask a second time "Are you sure there is nothing I can do to help?" I said "Sorry but no.". If you ask they have to transfer - there's really no viable reason for them to deny you.
