After NOA 2

Hi guys!

I've been reading the forums and still has not found any direct/clear answers.

I just received my NOA-2 and the e-mail that I got says "Please follow the instructions in the notice" but then the hard copy did not indicate any instructions, it was more of like a declaration of approval.

- So my question is, should I expect another letter from USCIS with instructions?

- Should I start filling up the i-134 form?

- Is/are there any documents that I need to submit to USCIS?

- What should I do now?

PLEASE ADVISE.

You should receive notification from NVC once you have been assigned a case number and the petition has been sent to the beneficiary's embassy, but if you don't want to wait you can call them and get your case number in advance.

Once you have the case number, a medical and interview can be scheduled. The beneficiary should also be obtaining other necessary items like vaccinations and police checks.

Yes fill out the i-134 form and have it ready to send to the beneficiary.

You shouldn't be receiving anything else from USCIS at this point.

Good luck :)

Is the notification from NVC a hard copy or they'll send it to my e-mail?

Have you received yours?

What other documents should I (petitioner) should I get?

Nope still waiting for ours, have called NVC but no luck yet. I think for some people it's a letter and others it's an email!

Other than proof of income I think that's it for the petitioner, other than perhaps proof of ongoing relationship :)

I see. Well I hope you get your case number soon!

I also have another concern but I'm not sure if you can answer this.

If ever we get our case number should we schedule for medical and interview immediately? Or it can wait?

My fiancee is going out of the country next month so I'm worried they might cancel our petition if we dont schedule by the time we get our case #.

That's great! Congratulations!!

NVC sends hard copy but if you follow the advice in this thread, you might succeed in jumping the gun and gettng your info.

The next step is for you or your fiance to get to a Bank of Philippine Islands branch in Philippines and pay the interview fee. You will need the MNL number to do that. It appears on the hard copy you get, or if you get through on the phone, ask them for it.

Once you pay the interview fee, you can then get on the Manila Embassy website and sign up for an interview date. They will want both the MNL number and the receipt number.

IMPORTANT: Treat the paper receipt like gold. Your fiance will have to produce the original on the day of the interview.

And start researching to see what documents you need for the interview. Some of them take time to get, so the time to figure out what you need to get is now.

I have another concern though, does it have an expiration? Because my fiance will be out of the country from January to February. Can we schedule the medical and interview months after?

What is the expiration date on your NOA2? I believe it needs to be done before then.

April. I have seen posts that had their interviews after the expiration date of their NOA2 but that was because NVC did not receive their petition for quite some time.

Yes it depends on how quickly things move at NVC.

But either way, if she's back in February I assume you will be doing the interview and medical in March which shouldn't be an issue if the expiry date is April.
