Passport number will change which means DS-160 will be incorrect????

Hey guys

When my fiancé completed his DS-160 a while back he entered his current passport number. We did some research and found that it was probably best if he replaces his passport due to it being the US embassy standard. He is scheduled to do that tomorrow. Now we got confirmation today that his interview is 16th December. When he went to resister and pay the fee, he noticed that he needed to enter passport number and DS-160 number. Now the fact that he is getting his passport renewed tomorrow, the number will change which makes the DS-160 out of date/incorrect.

What do we do?

Thanks VJ community

Enter the same number of the old passport, when he goes to the interview he will need to take the new and the old passport with him so they can verify. Upon approval of the visa they will keep his new passport and issue the visa on it.

Hi,

I hope you can help me.

I am at the same situation now. My DS160, my appointment with the embassy and all the documents I sent them have my old passport number.

Now I renewed my passport with a new passport number. My k1 visa interview will be on December 1st.

What do I need to do? Just take the both old and new passport to the interview? Do I need to do a new DS 160? Any additional steps I need to take?

How did the process work for you ?

Thanks !

I was wondering if you could provide an update.

How did this work out for you? Did you have any trouble, or did everything go smoothly?

Thanks for sharing!
