Hi everybody!

At this moment it's been 8 months i've been waiting for my approval on I-130. Should/Can I apply for K3 visa? I live in Turkey right now. I was turned down from us border before we started the process. My husband applied for I130 from US. And now we live in Turkey and waiting and waiting.

Does anybody know if that is a problem my husband(us citizen) lives In Turkey with me?

Thank you and I wish everybody a smooth and fast process!

I did a K3 and it was useless. Do a search in the top right corner of this page. I was dead set on taking the K3 route but it was closed once it got to the NVC. Its free to file but a huge waste of time in my opinion.( and others if you search)

Read the NVC WIKI to see what you will need to do for living together abroad. The Wiki spells it out.

If you both in turkey why did you not try DCF? It is faster I guess. All the best!

There has to be a USCIS office in the foreign country in order to do DCF. Embassies stopped handling DCF a couple years ago. Turkey does not have a USCIS office.

I'm the USC petitioner.

At 8 months you're past processing times. I suggest the petitioner get in touch with whomever was their congressman or senator in the area they lived/will live is.

You've already waited for 8 months, approval is just around...contact uscis directly and ask about your case. I would not suggest you to file K3, it will take its time to get approve from uscis so by the time K3 will be in NVC your CR1 will be getting out from NVC to Turkey. so be patient and contact uscis.

We are at 7 months waiting for I-130 approval and I am leaving at the end of this month to go back to Turkey. We were told that we were stuck in security checks. It is really frustrating. K3 I hear is waste of time also.

I really don't understand what the problem is and why it is taking so long. I have everything ready for the NVC portion of this wait.

I am ready to get this moving further along.

I sucks being apart. So I will just go back.

slnbsk what were you told when you did a service request?

So you got approved after 11 months?

Are you a US citizen?

I just don't understand what is taking so long.

It is not like he has any "issues"

Pisses me off quite frankly.

Yep, I am the USC. Click my spoiler.. it was very very hard and now we are still waiting for his waiver to be approved. Its like an endless nightmare.

I am still angry at how long it took our I-130 to be approved.
