After NOA2..CEAC status shows "ready". Now what?

My CEAC status showed "ready" today for the first time! It said this:

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3731.html

I have read ALL the guides but am still somehow confused on the points below. Questions:

-Do I wait 2 weeks and call to see if they have assigned my interview date, or can I schedule it?

-If they schedule it and it makes my life complicated, can I reschedule it for a later date?
-Is there a fee I can pay now, or does my fiance have to wait for packet 4 to fill out his online application?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats! This means you case is at the embassy, received. The status date may change 2 more times but continue to say ready. From experience, once received they update status to ready, then when date changes, your file has been entered in their data base, and hopefull third and last time date changes is that your interview date is scheduled. Now, thus may be different in every case, but my suggestion is to call consulate next week Friday.... Just keep checking CEAC and the appointment list.

Good Luck!

Do I need to pay something before I call them?

Can I schedule my appt with them or do they just assign it?

You don't have to pay anything at this time. VISA fee is paid on the day of the interview in the amount of $265.00 And $11.00 courrier service fee for Domex. You will have to pay the medical exam, my fiancé called and was quoted $289.00 with vaccines included.

The embassy will schedule your interview and send the beneficiary instructions( packet 4)

Basically at this point you follow up and get your date, gather all necessary docs for interview, and complete the visa application on line

Yes, I've been spending a lot of time on that page! :)

If I get an interview date that I don't like, would I be able to move it to a later time? Is there a way to reschedule it if I produce a letter from my employer? Ultimately, of course, I'll do whatever is necessary! :)

Filed: K-1 Visa Country: Thailand
Timeline

NOA2 approved October 14th

US Embassy Bangkok DHL delivery date from US State Department was November 7th

Updated status November 17th shows READY..

Bangkok, Thailand US Embassy.

Have not received the Packet 3 yet.

The address has NOT changed......have received both NOA1 and NOA2 at same Thailand address as made in application.

Is there anything I am missing? Do we need to complete more forms online in order to get Packet 3 ?

Others in timelines similar to ours usually get their Packet 3 in 4-7 days from arrival in Bangkok from State Department.

Thank you for any thoughts or suggestions,,,

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving....Happy Holidays ahead too.

Best regards from Thailand,

Tj
