Hello all,

We have a few questions regarding the K1 Flow Chart,

We have received the notification that our case has been received by the Embassy from the NVC and that is ready for processing, however the document was sent to my fiancee's address instead of me, the thing is that it was sent to her address but it is addressed to me, is this common or will I also receive this notification in Mexico?

The other question would be that this document that she recieved says that I can already go to the travel.state.gov website and complete the form DS-160 and select Ciudad Juarez Consulate for processing, to my understanding if I do this I will be scheduling my appointment for the interview, is this correct?, but the thing is that I have not receive anything from the embassy yet and the K1 Flow says that I will receive a set of Forms and Checklists of paperwork that I must collect prior the interview, (Step 8 - http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow) and then send the completed forms to the US Embassy.

Do I have to wait for this package or is now everything being done through the website and this package is no longer being sent to the Beneficiary?

Last question, does my ASC (Applicant Service Center) appointment needs to be in Juarez or can it be in a town that is closer to where I live, to my understanding this is just for the pictures and biometrics, if it needs to be done in Juarez, do I have to be there for 3 days?, one for ASC appoinment, one for Medical and one for the interview?

I am also curious as to what people do when they go to Juarez, does everyone just stays at the hotel that is near the Embassy? I have a friend that went to Juarez with his wife and they rented a room at someone's house, the people that rented them the room also picked them up from the airport and drove them to the Embassy, has anyone had any experience with something like this?

I am also worried about this part in the process! It is coming soon for me and my fiance. Im worried that the mail system in Mexico is bad and that he will not recieve the letter, or "packet 3." However, I think it needs to be presented at both the ASC appointment and the medical exam. Correct? So We are both wondering the same thing! What happens if the beneficiary doesnt recieve the packet?

Hello,

At this point you must of gotten your new case number. If you did you can just go into the CEAC website and complete the DS-160 form. I never received packet3, my fiancé did(petitioner) and it took him long to received this. If you got your new case number you can download packet number 3 online and just send all the information they ask for via email( at least that is how i submitted, but I'm in Canada, I am not too sure how it works from Mexico). Once you send packet number 3, and you are going to need the confirmation number from the DS-160 form, they are going to send you packet 4 with instructions on where to get your exams done, you cannot go to any doctors it has to specifically be the listed ones on packet number 4. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/k1k4dec13.pdfthat is the link for packet 4 it gives you a list of doctors for your exams. However, you do have to wait for packet 4 before scheduling an exam day!

Good luck

Hello all,

We have a few questions regarding the K1 Flow Chart,

All notifications will be sent to the petitioner addressed to the benificiary because he/she will be applying for the visa.

Wait until you receive a letter (packet 3) and follow the instructions. The benficiary may not receive it due to Mexico's crappy postal service, but you can scan and email it.

It all has to be done in Juarez, usually you can get an exam appointment the day before the interview, but expect to be there 2 to 3 days, the biometrics can be done the same day, it only takes about 10 mins.

Thanks Jose&Eli!, I was worried about not receiving the packet #3, my fiancee has scanned it and mailed it to me.

I have one last question, did you guys have to fill form DS-260? I've seen a few posts that people say they had to fill in this but the following link (http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Mexico&cty=Juarez) says that DS-160 is the only DS form that needs to be filled.

Thank You again for all the help.

Thanks a lot, I've gone through it and the only thing we are missing is the Invoice ID and Beneficiary ID, I checked a few other posts and it says we should have gotten that in the invoice when we did the first payment for the K1 Visa but all we got was a text message, I've been trying to call the NVC @ 603-334-0700 since 8:00 AM EST until now (They close at midnight) from 3 different locations US and MX but no luck, did you guys get both Invoice and beneficiary ID in a document or did you have to call the NVC to get them?
