DCF Dominican Republic - appointment needed?

We are about to file DCF in the Dominican Republic, but I don't know if an appointment is needed to do so. Does anyone know?

Also, do I need to put my US address on the I-130 Petition for Alien Relative? Like on a supplemental sheet? Thanks.

I don't have the link handy, but go on the USCIS site, search for local offices and then select Santo Domingo. The page gives you all the info regarding dcf. You can only go certain days and I think they do recommend an appointment since the dcf process is rare and most employees don't know how to assist you when you get there. Good luck!

Thanks so much! We went two weeks ago (without an appointment, as some documentation that they sent me from the USCIS office at the embassy in SDO gave general window times and the website also said appointment not necessary). We arrived early (6:15AM), and were second in line for the "Other" line. The line for the Residence Visa was huge by the time we got there so we definitely need to go earlier for any future visits.

There was also a line for temporary / travel visas. It was long, too. The "other" line I am talking about was on the far left side of the front of the embassy. The Policia Nacional directed us there when we said we were there to see USCIS. One of them was very helpful, telling people which lines to get into even though he's not really authorized.

A few things to note about going in: no perfumes, lipsticks, CELL PHONES, allowed. There were a lot of women who had to throw away their sprays and glosses and some had to call others to retrieve their cell phones.

At the USCIS window, we were first in. the first part took maybe 10 minutes as he went through all the documentation. He asked for our original birth certificates and marriage certificate. I assume this is because it's the embassy and they will transfer the files to the state department once USCIS has finished, but I will bring originals to the interview also just in case.

I know this may not be necessary for you, but just putting it all in case someone else needs the info!
