You should be fine with just the US passport alone for stays less than 1 year as long as it says you were born in the Philippines.

As for having both US and Philippines passports, if you stay 1 year or more, you have to pay the travel tax upon departure from the Philippines - even if you presented both US and Philippines passports upon arrival. For stays less than 1 year, you don't have to pay it. Just make sure they stamp both passports.

If you have both a US and a PHL passport, you need to give both passports. The talking to I received was when I was coming in for only a week here in Manila. I just presented my US Passport. Apparently my US record in the system is cross referenced that I also have Dual PHL citizenship and have and active PHL passport in my name. Immigration officer basically told me that in their eyes, I'm a PHL citizen and as such need to present my PHL passport whenever dealing with them.

Travel Tax is a fixed rate for anytime you're traveling internationally as a PHL citizen. Collected either as part of your ticket purchase or at the airport before you check in

Travel Tax is fixed rate of P1620 each time you travel international from the PHL as a PHL citizen

Jan 21, 2015 - NOA2: Mailed (via PhilPost!) paper/hard copy delivered to our place here in Manila.

Jan 22, 2015 - Packet 3: Mailed (again via PhilPost!) paper/hard copy delivered to out place here in Manila.

Mar 5, 2015 - USEM Interview Appointment - IR-1 Visa Approved! (CEAC Status updated to ISSUED afternoon of interview day)

Mar 10, 2015 - 3pm - Received SMS saying IV Package ready for pickup at 2GO MoA. Picked up at 5pm. (Shipped/Picked Up/In Hand on 3rd Business Day post interview)

Mar 13, 2015 - CFO Manila - Done

The travel tax is a set amount. I think it's around P1600.

manilaraf: That's good to know. I'm a dual citizen and I have always presented both US and Pinas passports. I was wondering what they would say if I only presented my US passport.

UPDATE: I traveled in and out of the Philippines several times. If you enter with your Philippine passport, you can basically stay indefinitely. I presented both passports and they stamped both. On the U.S. passport, they wrote, "PP" next to the flight arrival information. "PP" meaning, "Philippine Passport".
