Aunt's tourist visa denied (split topic)

Not sure if I'm posting on the right forum but I would really like if someone could help me.

My aunt had an interview today (she applied for a visitors visa) but was denied. She had intended on visiting a cousin of hers who was going to finance her trip. at the interview the CO asked wen was the last time she had seen her cousin, she responded over 20yrs, which was the truth. however her cousin had visited the country last year but my aunt was unable to see her wen she had visited . So it seems that the CO thinks that she was not being truthful and they denied her saying that she did not demonstrate her intentions for her visit. even though they had not look at any of her documents.

WHAT SHOULD SHE DO?

SHOULD SHE REAPPLY? IF SO WEN SHOULD SHE?

She can apply as many times and as frequently as she likes.

Nothing she can do - her application was denied. She can reapply if her circumstances change. She needs to show strong ties to JA - property deeds, bank statements, vehicle titles etc

From an outsiders perspective, why after 20 years does she want to travel to the US to visit a family member that is not immediate?

Until that question can be answered logically, tourist visas may be difficult to obtain

good luck

She fail to prove she had no immigrant intent

Not seeing a family member 20 yrs and them

visiting but you never go see tem or them make

an effort to says to te CO its not that important

for them to now see each other, however a strengthened

your application. ties etc and listening to questions

ask B4 answering the CO is a must ,also never volunteer

info...how did they know the family member was in JA?

Most importantly keep old application info so one remains

consistent

That is normal.

Her and her cousin have kept in contact over the 20 plus years, she never really had much interest in going to the state before. However She also has aunty that is 93 and being that she is that old she's unable to fly to Jamaica so her cousin was willing to pay for her the trip to the states.

I understand that you shouldn't volunteer information but sometimes, the little extra clears some doubts. I am thinking that if only, she had said " I haven't seen my niece or nephew in 20 yrs even when he or she came down to visit, I was not able to see him or her". Because most Americans sign up with homeland security before a trip abroad so that the local embassy can help , so your auntie said the truth but if the interviewer is looking at this trip record and then he decides your auntie is lying to him.

That was just by the way.

But you can try again, just speak to your auntie before the interview about some of thses things. Good luck.
