Hello, my friend is applying for a tourist visa in order to travel to the States with me for one month. I am a U.S. citizen. My parents have sent an invitation letter requesting my friend to come, expenses would be taken care of, and we would stay at their house. What paperwork should my friend bring to the interview? I have found information online about the person covering expenses should provide a lot of bank and tax income paperwork. However, these have always been related to a six month stay. Do these things need to be provided for a one month stay, which does not involve a lot of travel? We would mostly remain in my home town, stay at my parents house so no hotel fees, and do some local site seeing. What do you recommend? Thanks for the information.

It is not gonna happen if your parents pay for her trip. Main point is that she is able to pay for her trip and she will come back after the trip. Her income, her house, her job... everything is about her. Something gurantees her coming back. Your parents and you have no weight at all in her visa application.
