Could I be there by March?

Just wanted to get peoples thoughts on this. We just received our NOA2 (extremely quickly thank goodness, we were incredibly lucky) and are now considering our travel plans in advance. I plan to spend Christmas in Oregon anyway (if they let me in!) which will be useful for gathering information for the Affidavit of support etc but I was also supposed to be flying back at the end of February for a couple of weeks to attend my OH's sister's wedding on March 1st.

My question is, is there any chance I will have my K1 by then or is it likely I'll have to return after her wedding to complete the K1 process? I'm hoping it's possible as obviously that will save me a whole other plane ticket but not sure how realistic that is.

Looking at the K1 timeline it seems to me that it *might* be possible if we are lucky. Just wondered what other people who have been through this already think of this.

Thanks in advance!

It's possible if things continue to go so smoothly for you. Just have to see how the cards fall. Look at other London timelines. I believe that embassy works fairly quick.

What !!??!? Who gets approved in FOUR days? Are you freakin' kidding me?

I think it is going to depend on how long it takes CSC to get your case to NVC. I don't follow those timelines anymore, but have picked up on a few posts saying they don't send out immediately.

I know you have research enough to get through London quickly (depending on when you get back and are available for the medical). What dates are your Christmas holiday?

Mama Nich soapbox----> Go get those shots sorted ASAP before your holiday. Does you Mum have a book of what you had while a child?

Haha I was waiting for a Nich-Nick response :P

Yes, four days, we are incredibly lucky, I must have looked at the email and logged into myUSCIS a million times to check that I didn't mis-read the notification but it definitely says the word "approved" so I hope my eyes are not deceiving me

I plan to leave for Christmas on December 8th (Dan is currently visiting me so we are flying together- hoping that makes for a smoother POE) and then as it's my birthday in January and we wanted to spend that together also I was planning on returning January 21st (with the hope that my medical will be booked for a couple of days after that as I will be in London already due to flying into Heathrow).

I know we aren't supposed to book flights in advance but the nature of my situation means I will have to in order to attend his sisters wedding

My mum does indeed have one of those books- all I am missing is the flu shot so I will try and get this done in the next two weeks before flying out for Christmas.

It seems like my timing is great but also not so great, it could go either way!

I guess if I get my case number from NVC sooner rather than later I should consider cutting my trip short and coming back in early Jan...

Maybe a good plan. Just see how it goes with NVC. When is your birthday?

So back to your shots. Have you had something with Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis since Jan 2005?

Have you had two MMRs?

January 12th :goofy: grand old age of 22 haha

Last time I showed the list to my mum she said I'd had them all (bar flu) but I'll check with her again. Why does it need to be since 2005 and not just in my lifetime? I think possibly they were before that... eugh more things to do :P

Need Tetanus boosted every 10 years. So it says Td or Tdap must have been in the last 10 years.

Your age probably had 2 MMRs already but check for the details. You can get a flu jab at Boots or any of those kinds of places offering them if the GP won't. Some only do it for children and elderly.

Is your police certificate ordered? Checked for all on the document list?

I booked my flu test with the GP today, and when I have that appointment (thursday) I'm going to ask for a print out of my vaccination history as mum can't find the book! Sent away the request for my police certificate on Thursday. Mum says I have definitely had two MMRs and is pretty confident I'm up to date with Tdap.

Thanks again for the ongoing help!

And your printout of vaccinations?

I asked and they said I need to submit my request in writing, and state my reasons for this request

So I went home, wrote the letter and took it back. They said it should be ready by monday
