Hi there,

I searched 10 pages or so and couldn't find the answer so I apologize ahead of time if this has already been answered:

I'm a Canadian citizen who is currently residing in the U.S. whilst waiting for my I-130 and I-485 to be approved (it is currently in the stage of the interview being scheduled). I applied and received my Advanced Parole with Work Visa Combo card. My I-94 expired back in October 2014 and I arrived with a B-2 visa.

My question is if anyone has any advice/tips/experiences traveling back to Canada WITH an AP (I also have a Nexus card) and having any issues returning. I'm planning on visiting my family during Christmas time for a week so I wanted to see if I would have any potential problems coming back to the U.S. (i.e. having my AOS terminated/being banned from the U.S./losing any legal rights etc.). Also, did anyone have any issues on the Canadian side; did the CO make a fuss about why you have been gone for 6+ months etc.?

I will be traveling with my USC wife during the trip (if that helps at all).

Thank you very much ahead of time for your answers and advice!

Won't be a problem at all.

Don't miss your interview.

Yes. Example: If someone leaves the country before their AP is approved, it is subsequently approved and mailed to them abroad, they attempt to use it to return to the US, they will find themselves in a bad situation.

You, on the other hand, should stop worrying. AP is used by millions of people annually without a problem. CBP and the airlines expect it.
