Hi

I am so nervous. My interview is tomorrow (21st november) and I am freaking out like mad, already feeling sick ect (I feel better when I'm about to perform on stage).

Think is, I am pretty sure I have got everything required, I have triple checked and triple checked again. And I'm assured I have nothing to worry about. But there's so many "what ifs". There is so much riding on tomorrow because my life will change either way. Surely it's understandable to be scared...

Anyone got any tips on how to deal with the nervousness?

Try not to be distracted, keep concentrated on the present, and what you have to do now to have a successful interview. It sounds like you are prepared, go in the embassy and take care of business!

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Hi,

I was the same way and I had my interview on Monday. Like you I was sick with worry and full with what if's and scared I'd forget a pivotal piece of paper.

It's really not that stressful once you're there, I found myself actually getting bored after having to wait around for so long.

I know you probably won't but just try to relax, once it's over you'll wonder why you worried so much. The CO I had was very nice and the interview was more like a conversation than an interview.

I actually bought a novels worth of evidence of our relationship among other things I thought I MIGHT need and they didn't ask for anything.

You'll be fine.

All I did while waiting was imagine how wonderful it was to have reached the finish line finally and that I get to be with my love soon. Happy thoughts! Your interviewer will appreciate your pretty smiles.

Interview wise though, I always like to keep things in my hand like a pen to release all my nervousness onto. I do that with every interview I have or when I have to talk in front of a crowd.

It's just one of those things, its possibly more important than anything I have ever done in my life and I would be heart broken if they said no. I have those herbal calming drops but I doubt they'll let me take them into the embassy. I think it will be the waiting that wont help either, when we're not allowed electronic devices or anything... I guess its time to find a good book!

I think our brains are programmed to think automatically of the worst case scenario.

I probably have nothing to worry about but its just something I do, my fiance is always telling me I worry too much... I've told him to get used to it...

Good luck to yourself too! I'm sure we'll be perfectly fine, but our brains are cruel to us!

Your are all amazing for this support, especially as all are going/went through the same thing.

I like to think this is my own little fairy tale, overcoming the trials, things have gone great so far... I'm still waiting for the baddie to step in though...

Thank you! :) I really know how you feel, my fiancé tells me sometimes that I am a worry wart (haha) but I just like to triple check everything over and over again, It's better to be safe than sorry, right? :)

I'm sure that everything will be fine, I'm praying that everything goes well with you tomorrow. If you two don't have previous marriages and/or kids from previous relationships, never overstayed a visa before, etc. then you really don't have anything to worry about! Plus, UK is a low fraud European VWP country :)

*sending you positive vibes* ;)

I know exactly what you mean about the fairy tale thing. I feel the same way. Think positive....God won't lead you to it, if He can't get you through it! Best of Luck! Be sure to update us!

Praying helps a lot. I was like you getting stressed and panicked but they'll ask you questions I'm sure you already know. I was more nervous on my POE and literally I had panic attacks while the plane was landing on my POE but God was present and km nothing bad happened.

God bless and I'm praying you have a smooth interview process :)

You guys are making me tear up with how kind you are all being!

I'm so glad that there are people like you to talk to! I most certainly will update you and I will let you know how the process goes for those that have interviews soon.

I've decided to busy my mind by sorting stuff to throw away so I can get packing soon! Then there's more to worry about...

You are allowed to bring some electronics into the embassy now. Take your phone.

From somebody who has been to an interview in London, and has read four or five HUNDRED reviews of experiences in London, everybody comes out and says "That was easy". They are not there to trip you up. They want you to succeed. If you happen to forget a document, you send it in later. You aren't denied over it.

You have a conversation, not a grilling. No hard questions unless you don't know your fiance's name, what kind of work he does, or where you will be living. You don't have to spout off precise answers. I knew a VJ guy who was asked ,"so how many times have you visited America?" He shrugged and answered "I dunno, lots of times," Allow yourself to be comfortable so you can have that easy 3 minute chat without throwing up.
