administrative processing at USA consulate in Mumbai, India

I am looking for people going through administrative processing at USA consulate in Mumbai, India.

My wife had her interview at Mumbai consulate on October 10 of 2014. Consulate officer gave her 221g and asked her to submit more proof of relationship.

She has sent documents via document drop off location on October 15th. We have not heard anything since. It says administrative processing on CEAC website.

What to do? How to resolve this ASAP? How long administrative processing takes at Mumbai consulate on average?

Thank you in advance.

You can't resolve ASAP. Nothing you can do but wait. Depending on what was asked for and submitting they may have to verify, investigate. It can take weeks to months. Hopefully it can resolved soon for you.

People going through this wont have any info either. AP is a difficult part of this process when it comes to many cases in India.

There is no asap method that will replace the course of events when it comes to A P. It can take weeks or months or sometimes even years. I would say the average is lengthy.

Thank you dwheels76,

Are you going through administrative processing?

How long did it take or how long has it been?

I am trying to find what is normal wait time based on different scenarios.

It takes as long as it takes. That's the best answer you'll be able to get unfortunately.

No I am not. There is no normal wait time because A P isn't " normal ".

Thanks Ning,

I just read on consulate website that most administrative processing is resolved within 60 days of your visa interview. Someone called Mumbai consulate phone number and they also said same thing.

So I guess now I am interested in talking to people who went through administrative processing. I want to know if within 60 days is right or wrong.

I hope the A P is over in one day but whatever the time frame is let us know here on V J because it will help others. Just keep in mind your case is unique as they all are so what happened to others may have little to do with you.

Going through AP since Nov 5, 2014 in Mumbai (Immigrant Visa). No news as of today. We got the same information as everyone else: Wait 60 days. No idea what is the average time.

We can see here that this subject of AP is very difficult to understand. I feel badly for these people that have to find a way to endure this.
