K1 G-325A Mistake pre I-129F Approval (Pretty Glaring)

Good Evening to all the people in K1 purgatory

We received our NOA1 today after only 5 days of waiting. Yay! However, we identified a fairly glaring issue on the beneficiary G-325A which was not caught until now.

From Sept 2012 – July 2013, my Mexican fiancée lived in the United Kingdom while she was studying for her Master’s degree. For her employment summary we included her time at the University, however we never added it to where she had lived over the last 5 years. We only listed places she lived with her family in Mexico because of the short amount of time she was living abroad.

So I’d like to run a little bit of a survey to see if my next steps make sense:

  1. Get a corrected G-325A with physical signature from fiancée
  2. Send the corrected G-325A to the Texas Service Center (Where NOA1 said I-129F was going to be processed)
  3. Send a letter explaining the mistake and asking for mercy
  4. Take both the original (erroneous) and the corrected copy of the G-325As to the interview

Or is it better to remain silent and bring up the error at the interview. My issue with waiting until the interview is if they take a major exception to the error made, restarting the process seems like a worst case scenario.

Any help is greatly appreciated and good luck with all of your visas

That is your only choice unless you pull an RFE for something and then you could send in the corrected form.

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Prepare the corrected form(s) and documents. I believe she will also need a police certificate from the UK as she lived there for over 6 months and (I assume) was older than 16 since she was studying for her Master's degree. Click the link in my signature to find out how to order the UK police certificate. Either wait for the RFE and/or bring the corrected documents to the interview.

If she plans to adjust status once she's married you, she needs to submit another G-325a with her AOS package. Better to correct the mistake during the K-1 process rather than to continue the misrepresentation into her AOS.

Thanks all for the help! Yes we are aware of the need for a UK police certificate. Process seems a but confusing at first glance but we have some friends there that may be able to help.

So for the time being we will remain silent on the correction until the visa interview or until an RFE is delivered per your directions.

Thanks for the help guys
