What should I do?

Hi all,

My husband just sent out our I-751 package today to remove conditions of status on my case. He did it right before the USPS closed today. He was in such hurry and he totally forgot to include the photo album (about 20 photos taken throughout our marriage). I just checked the tracking number and the package has left our local USPS location.

I'm totally freaking out right now as we clearly wrote on the cover letter to USCIS there are photos included!!

Has this happened with anybody else before?

I'm thinking to run to USPS first thing tomorrow and send a separate package of the photos.. Will that work?

Also....my husband forgot to sign the cover letter. I don't think it's a big deal since we both signed our I-751 and that seems more important. Right?

Photos are optional. You don't need to send them. I am pretty sure some examiners don't even read your headletter. Don't sweat, you gonna be fine. Good luck.

When including photographs, do you send them with a caption written on the back? are the prints 4x6??

If I remember when my wife got her initial I-751 receipt, it was a letter that extended the GC for one year while they processed the I-751. However, unless they changed it, there was a mention of sending additional documents to include a copy of the receipt letter and where to mail it to.

Also, VSC took 9 months to process our I-751. As you might imagine our lives changed during the time... new insurance, new job etc. but I was told on a another forum that there is no need to update USCIS of anything, except the a address change, unless they sent a RFE.

Both photos and the cover letter are optional. It makes no difference if he signed the cover letter or not. If they need the photos they will send you an RFE.

As I went over our I-751 package, I do think we have enough evidence to support our case without the photos.

Here are what we prepared:

- Copy of GC

- Copy of both our passport ID page

- Copy of marriage certificates & license

- Copy of my husband's certificate of naturalization

- Copy of our driver's license showing shared address

- 2 affidavits by friends

- Copy of 2013 & 2012 joint tax return

- Copy of apartment lease and extension showing joint occupancy

- Copy of deed of trust on our investment property purchased in a different state (showing both names)

- Copy of home insurance of above property (both names)

- Copy of 2 joint checking & saving accounts statements

- Copy of 2 joint car insurances

- Copy of joint health insurance & insurance cards showing joint policy

- Letter showing me as beneficiary of my husband's life insurance policy

- Copy of 2 joint credit cards statements

- Copy of the actual credit cards showing joint account number

- Copy of joint electricity bill

- Copy of joint internet service

- Joint entertainment membership (Netflix, Hulu)

- Various copies of documents in my husband or my name with shared address ( i.e, our pet hospital receipt, magazine subscription, insurance letter, individual credit card statements, copy of checks have both our names on them, etc)

We decided not to mail another package of the photos since you can see there are lots of evidence already. Personally I don't want immigration officer pay too much attention, or get annoyed over our case.

Thats exactly what I sent and got approved without asking for more evidence. Don't stress it out, this step and naturalization are way easier then first one (AOS)

Yes we did put people, location and date on the bak and put into a small 4x6 album which contains about 20 photos

Yes I think we are in good shape. We were actually enjoy the process of looking through all the photos for past two years and it's a bummer we can't share them to immigration officer.

As for the pictures, I think you already have enough evidence. If you try to send something now, it will be difficult to match up with your original petition. So, it sounds like you are making a good decision to just wait. If they want someting, they will send an RFE, and you can include the pictures at that time. Good luck with your process!

credit card with authorized user (copies of both cards two names with same number)

same thing with AT&T bills where you can add names under the phone number which shows in the statement.
