Hi All,

I am trying to fill the form I-864 for Joint Sponsor. I have few questions

Part 2: 'Mailing Address' : What goes into it and what is its significance ?

Part 3: Point 7, should it be 1 or 0, if I am the only beneficiary the joint sponsor if supporting ?

Please advice.

Hi All,

I am trying to fill the form I-864 for Joint Sponsor. I have few questions

Part 2: 'Mailing Address' : What goes into it and what is its significance ? This would be the address of the immigrant.

Part 3: Point 7, should it be 1 or 0, if I am the only beneficiary the joint sponsor if supporting ? It would be "1."

Please advice.

There is a separate part for the petitioning sponsor's mailing address on part 4. Part 2 is about the intending immigrant.

Thanks Ian H

I have another question like which documents that I carry to the Embassy Interview should have to be an original and which can be a photo copy. ?

Among these..

1) IRS Transcripts

2) Tax returns (1040)

3) W2s

4) 1099s

5) schedules/worksheets

6) Employment letter

7) Pay stub(s)

Please advice. Thanks.

If you submit these docs to the NVC, you don't have to bring them to the interview. The transcripts and the employment letter should be originals. Everything else could be a copy, but no need for taxes if you have the transcripts.

good advice would be to read word for word when filing out the I 864 the instructions are very helpful and its actually a simple form but so many people make mistakes on this form. With the 60 day waiting period it makes it worst.

Hi To All, I just have a quick question. This form seems so easy, but it confuses me as heck...

My question is on part 3 #2a.

I am petitioning for my mom and dad. I am preparing forms for each of them. So, on part 3 #2a (on Family member 1) should I add my mother's name to my dads i864 form. and vice versa on my mom i864 form?
