Hello guys! I need your help. There was an error at my fiancé's name on his passport so he applied for a new one on Sept 26, 2014. He still haven't received his passport and our petition expires November 24, 2014. Can I request for an extension? Do I have to pay a fee? My fiancé is from Tacloban which was devastated by typhoon Haiyan so everything there is slow.

thanks in advance for all your help!

Are you talking the expiration date shown on the NOA2? If you are don't worry, the embassy will extend the validity of the petition up to a year... automatically. ... relax.. all is fine.

He's planning to go to the DFA office where he applied and just pick it up himself. Does anybody know if that is possible? We're getting desperate :(

Where did he apply?

U said there was a mistake on his name so he had to reprocess it, didnt they offer to do ammendment instead? And on his receipt, what did they put as release date? I had mine process at DFA megamall branch, releasing date was sept15-22 but was only issued on the 23rd.... About the noa2 validity, i asked the consul about that last oct23 during my interview if said validity will be automatically extended she said it shouldn't be a problem.

He applied in DFA Aseana Sept 26 and paid Php 1200 so he can get it Oct 3rd... the problem is, it was supposed to be delivered in Tacloban. According to him, DFA in Tacloban and even LBC doesn't have any idea when the passport will arrive. Do you think if he goes to DFA Aseana he will get his passport? Thanks for the info regarding the NOA2 and the expiration. Now I'm not so stressed anymore.

There is still delay in the printing of passport, if he opted for it to be delivered thru lbc i am

Not sure if he can get it where he applied instead...on the receipt, they usually attach a paper with a telephone number, try calling that number and inquire to be sure
