EAD renewal and new Biometrics

Hello everyone. I sent my I-765 application for EAD renewal two weeks ago, received NOA in 7 days and now I've received a new letter with appointment for biometrics. This is a little bit surprising for me as I have done biometrics last year in November and my AOS is pending.

Do I really need to attend new biometrics again and why is that needed? I tried to call but their help center is not working on weekends.

Thanks!!

It would be wise, biometrics are only good for a certain time period and then they expire. What code does your letter state a code 2 or a code 3? I will say that after we did our 2nd biometrics, our AOS got approved in two weeks.

A lot of people find it confusing and frustrating to have to do biometrics more than once. However, with almost every application you submit to USCIS there is a biometrics involved. When you apply for citizenship, when you renew your GC, etc.
