Hi Dweels and anyone who can help.... am going for my f2b interview next week in Accra Ghana embassy. pls can anyone help me documents to take along to the interview to avoid DNA. I just want to get the visa one touch, no AP no DNA. Am 29yrs.

I have these items already:

1.birth cert

2. at birth vaccination and weight records( with petitioner name in as my dad)

3.old hard copy letters written from my former primary school and church as far back as 1999 inviting my dad to meeting etc.

4. 2 snail mails from my dad to me whiles am in high sch in 2002.

5. phone records from January 2014 to September 2014

6. pictures with my dad (petitioner) when I was 2yrs(1986), pictures taken in 2005 and 2012. total pics are about 15 different copies.

7. receipts of all remittances sent to me directly ans through my brother. about 6copies.

pls advice if this is a good evidence enough to prove relationship and help me avoid DNA.

I need answers guys, pls........

you seems to have pretty good evidence as in documents but if your dad filed for you, then you're definitely bound to have a DNA test as it has been in all cases I have seen.

All the best

Is a DNA test routine in Ghana? That I'm aware of they only require DNA tests when the CO doubts the birth certificate or other documentation. My cousin's stepson wasn't given a DNA test even though his dad added his name to the birth cert a little before the NVC process. The CO only asked him, if he was sure that's his son and that's it. I thought for sure they were going to request a DNA test because of that, but fortunately they didn't, that would have cost like $800 in the DR.

This does not constitute legal advice.

did a bit of research and dna testing is not a routine in Ghana unless otherwise requested by petitioner to support the petition

hi guys , I went for my interview yesterday with my brother. the process went smooth, no DNA request. but the consular needs the w2 or tax transcript of the joint sponsor. we only had tax transcript of my dad and not the joint sponsor. we were given 221g requesting for tax transcript or w2 of the joint sponsor on Nov,12th. in fact the consular even said one of us could return the document together with our passports...... does this mean just that when we return to the embassy with the w2 our visa will be issued????

also the joint sponsor has gotten his w2 and we may received through dhl next week. can we submit it to the embassy before the Nov,12th. thanks guys.

thanks for the update and congrats I will say

No there is no same day visa, takes about 2-3 days to be issued

the Nov 12 given is Wednesday which is what they normally do there, but you will probably get the visa by Friday

good luck on the rest of your plans

sometimes they will call you asking if you have received the document and will give you an early date but i dont see anything wrong with you emailing them saying you have received the document and wants to know if they can get you to bring it in earlier

I want to say thanks to God and everyone on visajourney. I am so grateful. after presenting the requested document(w2) on the 221g. my visa was approved without any question at all from the consular. my status on ceac shows ISSUED. but I was told to come for my passport n visa on Wednesday Nov 19 which happens to be my birthday. thanks to God.
