The last questions (?) on the DS-260 form are about social security numbers. If I answered yes to "do you have an ssn" and provided the number, is there any reason why I would want a new card issued? It just seemed like an odd question to have there so I was wondering if I was missing anything...

Thanks!

Some people with temporary visas may have a SSN but the card itself is marked with a notation something like "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION". In that case you would want to have a replacement card printed - although I think a trip to the SSA is a better way to achieve that.
