Hello,

I am travelling soon with my AP EAD combo card, my passport will expire in january 2015. The aim i travel, is to renew my passport back in Ukraine and make it on married name. Also in Ukraine they let you keep old passport IF it´s not yet expired and IF you prove you need it (my tickets both way are on maiden name which is in passport).

I `plan to re-enter US with my old and new passports, reason the same, tickets are on maiden name. Will I face any problems re-entering taking into account my old passport expires by January 2015?

Any advice is very appreciated!

Duration of my travel is 1 month, that means I come back BEFORE my old passport expires.

I was just at OVIR :) You are officially allowed to have TWO international passports. To keep both you just have to pay extra 60UAH :)

They do indeed let you keep your first international passport without any problems at all.

(I just presented the copy of the first page of my first passport when applying for the second one - no problems at all) The other girl in the line didn't even have her first international passport ( not copies of it) with her, since she said it was at a consulate - she didn't have any problems.

And you probably already know that but anyway the prices ( at least in Kyiv ) are the following:

1. 960UAH and your second passport is ready for pick up in 10 workdays ( 2 weeks)

2. 45UAH and you can pick it up in a month and a week

3. 174 UAH and you go to Bortnychi center ( in from Kyiv) and the waiting is 30 work days.

So dont worry, you are good to go :D

Yes, I know about keeping the old passport procedure. I am still debating where to make it (in Kyiv there is one agency on Universytet metro station. I read the prices so Don't know where to apply yet), cos I will change last name in my internal passport and so on that basis will ask for a new travel passport on married name. (and you know how people are at ¨pasportnyi stil¨ - which now is called something else........ I was told internal passport is changed in about 30 days....which I still will go and ask if it´s possible to make it faster.) If not, will do travel passport on single name as it was before. :D

My problem is when entering the USA I will show old passport, and the experation date is January 2015, which is less than 6 months as border control asks for........will I have problems? - ANY ONE WHO FACED SUCH SITUATION IS WELCOME TO EXPLAIN IT TO ME :)
