Hey guys,

I have just filed the DS-261 for the choice of agent and the next step is to pay the Affidavit of Support fee and the Immigrant Visa application processing fee. However, in the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center is it not letting me pay both of them. It only shows the 120$ AOS fee and doesn't show any amount and doesn't even let me select the application processing fee.

Is this normal? Am I supposed to pay the AOS fee first and then only the application fee? Or should I wait until it lets me pay both fees? Because on their website it clearly states that I need to pay both.

Thank you for your help!

Yes its normal. Your IV fee will not appear for another 50 to 60 days. DS-261 generates the IV fee after it is reviewed and accepted.

I think they are in the middle of changing the system. I'm in the same situation. According to the current guide, both should be payable immediately. I've sent an e-mail and will send both AOS and IV packages together.

See this thread.

Thank you Ryan! Can you please let me know what they reply to your email?

I have paid the AOS fee and submitted the choice of agent form DS-261. Doesn't let me pay IV fee, so it also doesn't let me do the next DS-260 form.. So i'm just waiting now..

Hi Becky,

I am in the same situation you were one year ago. I paid the AOS fee of 120$ and sumbitted the Choose an agent form. I was ready to feel the DS-260 Form but obviously the Procesing fee is not paid, so It doesn't let me proceed.

I have read that you were waiting for Ryan to respond you, as I read that he sent an email to the NVC in this regard.

Any news? did they change the system? Do I need to wait those 50 to 60 days?

Thank you so much!
Silvia

Same question (and frustration) here! I paid the AOS fee on August 24th (a month ago) but the IV fee shows as zero so I can't fill out the DS 260. Does anyone have any answer? I will call them later today but would love to know if I need to just wait...

Thanks!

As far as I know and it was like this when my wife case was at the NVC February 2014 is that you pay the AOS fee and fill out the DS-261 choice of agent form. The IV fee will not show until the DS-261 choice of agent form had been review and added to your case. then the IV fee will show after you paid the IV fee then you can fill out DS-260 visa application

You can call the NVC and have them review the DS-261 choice of agent form over the phone for you. Also you can send in both the AOS and IV packets after you paid the AOS fees and before you paid the IV fees and the DS-260 form is fill out
