Question about name on Green Card

So my first name is two separate character in Chinese. I think when my mom signed me up in school, they put my name like this: blah-blah instead of blahblah; it kind of pisses me off. That's why people sometimes call me by my first character and not the whole name. But I just noticed on my Green Card after 9 years that my name is formatted as if my second character in Chinese is a middle name because there is only 1 letter for it. For example: Blah Blah B instead of Blah BlahBlah.

My card expires next year, is it possible to fix that issue?

EDIT: My full name in English is only 10 characters without spaces.

When you renew your green card, you can correct your name at the same time. You'll need to send in an explanation and evidence of your correct name.

If you decide to apply for US citizenship instead, you can also correct your name during that process.

Usually, if you have a legal document that shows your name in pin yin, USCIS will make the correction. sometimes it's free, sometimes it's another fee - all depends on what yer submitting.

if you've been in USA for 5 years though - why not just take the plunge and apply for citizenship ?
