Can't find vaccination records?

Hi everyone,

This is my first posting! We are at the stage where I have just sent in my affidavit of support documents, and my husband just completed the IV form online. The form asked the question about vaccinations. We put down that he doesn't have his records at the moment but will get them for the medical appointment.

My problem--we can't find his vaccination records! He received all vaccines required as a child, but the medical centre he attended as a child isn't there anymore, and Australia didn't have a vaccination register until the 90s (at least that is what I think based on the call I made to the vaccination register today). So does anyone know what will happen? Can they just give him the vaccines at the medical appointment? And how is the medical appointment scheduled? I haven't received any information on that yet. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

He can get his blood tested for immunity or he can get the vaccinations again. I suggest getting them through his doctor or health clinic (or Aus equivilant) as they may be cheaper than getting them done at the medical. I'm not sure if Australia can get a medical before the interview date is set or not. But he only has 6 months from the medical date to immigrate so it's best to do it as close to the interview as possible.

I'm going to move your thread to your regional forum where you can get the best answers for his location. :) Best of luck.

Last week when I had my medical exam there was one vaccine I didn't have, varicella and the nurse asked me if I ever passed it I said no and she said it was weird because my age.... So they tested my blood for immunity ( like NLR said )

3 days later results came as I needed the vaccine.

So I guess they can do it with your husband so he can keep the papers to show to the uscis surgeon and maybe safe some money ( they are not cheap at all...... ) if he is missing any vaccines he can get them for cheaper and keep the papers to show to the US doctor :)

Hi KatieandAleks--thanks so much! Where did you get tested--do you know if they can do that at any health clinic?

Did you get tested after your medical was scheduled? Or before?

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the advice on this! :)

They sure don't make this process easy do they!

I got mine tested at my local GP before the medical. When I got the results I sent them to the medical centre doing my medical when I made the appointment. They were fine with it.

Ok, good to know! I'll get my husband's appointment set up asap then. He's going to have a busy week with getting the photos done, police certificate, marriage cert and everything else they need! :)

I am going through the interview stage for my K-1 at the moment. It is so stressful! I feel your husband's pain haha.
