Details:

July 31: petition approved; NOA 2

Aug 13: NVC receipt

Aug 15: NVC left

Aug 25: NVC letter hardcopy received by Fiancee

At Ceac:

Case creation date: Aug 13

Status updated date: Aug 19

And states "your case is ready for interview.."

Upon checking Ceac status update date is now Sept 4.

My interview date is Sept 22 (next monday) but until now i haven't received the hardcopy from USEM. I just want to ask if it's okay to go the interview without the letter from them? How will i know that they received our case? I have already called usem twice and got the same answer which is to email them. It's been 2 weeks and still no email reply.

A far as I know, the embassy doesn't mail letters anymore, as registration and scheduling are done via an on-line system. I assume that you booked the interview on the USEM web site after completing the DS-160 form. If so, your appointment confirmation should have been sent to the email address that you provided when you registered with the embassy.

Our confirmation came from No Reply <no-reply@ustraveldocs.com>, with the Subject "Appointment Confirmation." Check and see if an email with the above description is in your inbox, then print it for your interview. If not, you might be able to have the email re-sent by going back to the appointment page at embassy web site and accessing your case.

incidentally, you also need two copies of that confirmation on the day you go to Saint Luke's for the medical exam. Have you attended your medical exam yet? This should be completed at least two weeks before you go to the embassy.

Best wishes to you on your big day!

Yes i already printed the interview confirmation. And yes i'm already done with the medical 2 weeks ago. I'm just worried as i have not received the letter from them so i'm not sure if they got our case.

It is okay not to receive that letter from the US embassy.. I received mine 2 months later, although it came 5 days before my interview. I talked to other K1 visa filers, they also never received anything, and they were approved that day.. They never asked about that letter during the interview.. They have your file.. Breathe in breathe out.. I was like you last week...

Don't wait for it. The interview confirmation email is sufficient. I've been in the States for 9 months now and still haven't received that letter at my Ph address. I blame PNoy. Jk.

The embassy instruction letter asks for a copy of the appointment confirmation email. Follow the instructions letter as to what is required for the interview. That letter is not on the list. ;)

The appointment confirmation email is fine. Their system to send out the hard copy of the letter is dismal at best. But you don't really need it. My wife showed up with the printout of the email, and they accepted it just fine. As for the hard copy letter, she has been here now for 3 months, and that letter was never received at her home in the Philippines.

So don't wait for a letter that only has about a 50% chance of ever arriving. Go with a printout of the email. It will do just fine.
