AP question- Working in native country after K1 visa accepted

Hello!

So, if all things go to plan, it looks like I will have my K1 in early November (fingers crossed). As soon as I get it I will be getting straight on a plane and getting hitched :dancing:

As soon as we do that I plan to apply for the AOS, EAD and AP (I can do that all at once, can't I?)

Anyway, I work with touring bands, selling merchandise. There is a chance that I have a big tour (40 dates) coming up in the UK (where I am from) and Europe, in February. Now, did I read somewhere that I can get one of those AP thingies quickly, if it has something to do with business or did I totally read it wrong? I don't know if I will have enough time to have it approved and I certainly won't be able to confirm a tour if I don't definitely know I will be able to leave the states.

Usually I would just turn the work down but this tour could pay for the entire process, right through to naturalisation!

Any advice is muchly appreciated.

How many months is 40 dates? After applying for AOS, you will have to go to a biometrics appointment and an interview near your American address. (Sometimes people don't interview).

People have expedited their AP with a job offer, but that would come after marriage and sending the AOS/EAD/AP applications, whenever that will be. Like everything in immigration, it is all uncertain how it would work out time wise for you.

yes you can file AOS,EAD AND AP together as its cheaper that why rather than seperate. You will get your EAD card back first which will allow you to work legally in USA.

unless the touring band will be applying for a work permit for you to work with them in the USA, i wouldnt advise working with out your EAD card.

good luck

The band is English and will be touring Europe and the UK where I am legally allowed to work. I won't even entertain the thought of trying to work in the USA illegally, after all the trouble of getting there!

40 dates is probably going to be about a month and a half.

So Nich-Nick, are you saying it is possible to get a quickie for work? I'll be moving to Chicago if that makes any difference and will be married by the time the work happens. We'll probably tie the knot as soon as we can.

gaaaaah! I'm all blurry from being on hold with the post office for 52 minutes. I know people get expedited work permits, which isn't what you want. There have been some expedited travel permits (Advanced Parole) but that was for emergencies and sometimes those didn't happen easily. I don't really have any specific knowledge of AP when you have a job in another country. That's beyond my knowledge really. Six weeks gone isn't so bad that it would be impossible to work in before a possible interview.
