Ok I have a question for those who have expereince with interveiws in Manilia phillipines. My wife and I met in the beginning or November 2013. Then I went to visit her in January 2014 and we got married Jan 17th 2014 while I was still there. Since then I have visited her in feburary,March,June, and will visit her again next week September 14th 2014. We hope to have an interveiw date in November or December. I'm concerned we might have a problem when we interveiw because we only knew each other a short time before we got married. Any sugestions on how to handle this at the interview???

I don't see any issue. You show ticket stubs for all those dates, copies of the passport pages with stamps for those dates, receipts or whatever from when you visited, and some pictures together.. you are golden! And of course the normal email or chat log BS.

Most on here that do the K-1 see their fiancee one time, propose, head back to the states and don't see each other again until she arrives in the States.

Seriously that is pretty solid evidence in my book.

OP,

I concur and second Hank's observations.

While it's true that it's POTENTIALLY a red flag of sorts, getting involved in a relationship, falling in love, and then marrying doesn't have an imposed timetable.

My advice? Common sense. Be confident, and above all be honest and just answer their questions.

Regards.

Marrying two months after meeting is certainly a red flag.

Why?

Just because they quickly married after first meeting, it doesn't mean that their relationship isn't genuine...

Knowing each other a short time before marriage really isn't an issue. What matters most is that you have a loving and genuine relationship. Just go into the interview with confidence and smile and everything will work out.

Not really a red flag for PI, actually it is very common there.

OP, the fact that you visited so much is a good thing.

As Hank said you have some strong evidence of a genuine relationship with your passport stamps.

I'd say it's a red flag, but like all red flags it can be overcome with sufficient evidence. Marrying after two months I think is unusual for almost any culture.

Not even in the slightest... maybe for the UK, but not for the Philippines.... which is the forum this is in.

Something that we experienced. The fiance had pictures, and chat logs, and phone records.

She had MORE than enough stuff, and the examiner challenged her on it.
"You only have 2 pages of chat logs?" "She calmly replied "I didn't want to print out the 5500+ pages, but I could!" He moved on.

So, it sounds like you have MORE than enough proof. Just be confident.

Usually they don't ask for any chat logs, they ask to see a couple pictures and then... done. Always an exception of course, and that was a great answer on the part of your fiancee!

I gave my husband (then fiancé) 4 chats (1 for every year)...he said they didn't ask him for that and asked to see our pictures instead :) They only wanted to see the Affidavit of Support & pictures.
