I confirmed with the NVC a couple weeks ago that Montreal has our application and an agent gave me our MTL case number over the phone. My fiance still has not received Packet 3 in the mail and I read that Montreal is notorious for taking a long time to send it, if at all. We read that a lot of people just go ahead and send completed Packet 3 documents anyway before they receive the instructions in the mail. All of the information seems to be current posted on Montreal's consultate website here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf

We have all of our Packet 3 documents gathered now and the instructions on the consulate's website form say to EMAIL it to their email address. I haven't seen anyone on these forums mention emailing Packet 3 before they rec'd the letter so wanted to see if anyone had any experience with doing that and was the result was. Thanks all!

(My fiance is British but living in Canada and is applying for his K-1 in Montreal).

We never received a paper copy, and this was before they started doing everything by email. It wasn't until I contacted Montreal by email that they replied with the packet 3 instructions, so there is no point waiting. As long as you have a MTL case number, you can send in packet 3. They already have your case digitally, they used to wait until they got the paper copy before sending out packet 3, but they can add your packet 3 to the rest of the digital file if the paper copy isn't there yet. Worst case they put the email in a TODO folder.

We never received any physical documents from MTL, ever. We did get a packet 4 email, but nothing else from them.

Be proactive and do it on your own!

As soon as our case said "Ready" I had my fiance email Packet 3, we never got a paper copy. He got Packet 4 emailed to him like a week later, and then a week after that he got a physical Packet 4. If you wait on them to physically send you Packet 3 you'll be waiting a while, send it in if you haven't already!
