No direct consular filing offered in the Paris embassy...

What does it mean for me. I have to mail it to the US? Is it going to go through a processing center and take a year+- ?!

I just started to get my hopes up about DCF, thinking we could to it quicker, and just read that the Paris embassy doesn't offer it.

Thanks.

Thanks. It IS amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search... :)

Why can people do DCF in Kazakhstan, Nicaragua, Vietnam, and all France's neighbors, but not here in France? :ranting:

Because the workload, doesn't justifiy opening of an extra office. Compared to all other countries, French migration is a very small % compared to the above mentioned countries.

You could move to the UK or Germany and have it processed there as DCF ;) Would go much faster (Frankfurt 6 Weeks to 3 months).

I looks like people have been DCFing in Paris until 2012.

Moving to the UK, Germany, or Belgium for a few months is actually a great idea.

You will have to be a resident of that country your are DCF' in for at least 6 months. After that you can file in person for faster processing. Friends of mine recently did it this way in Frankfurt and had their visa in hand in just about 10 weeks.

Hi,

Take a look at this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/

It looks like people who live abroad but do not qualify for DCF sometimes have their petitions move faster then those in the U.S.A.

Be sure to write your foreign address and state that you are living in France.

Whoa! Interesting thread. Never realized this. Hopefully, this gives the Op some hope of expedited application with this recent application from France - http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/357465-usc-petitioner-living-abroad/?p=7095018.
