Be prepared by bringing everything and anything that they could possibly ask for. Dress comfortably. And always smile :) I know its a big deal but there really isn't anything to be nervous about. All the answers to their questions should be easy since its about you and your fiance.

@salmuf

oh thank you so much for your response. =) Just two questions actually, if how many pictures should I bring? I will also include some pics of him and my son.

And if do the consulate really ask a LOT of questions or the interview is not that long?

I am also 5 months pregnant maybe thats where the uncomfy feeling is coming from hehe. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. Bec. I cannot ride an airplane if i reach my 34th week. But we made sure that all the needed requirements are prepared. =)

Firstly, congratulations mom-to-be :)

Regarding the pictures, you do not need to carry too many. I carried 3-4 pictures from each of our meetings and a couple of pics from our engagement ceremony. If you did not have a formal engagement ceremony, just carry few pictures of each of your meetings with the date and place written at the back of each photo. It would be good if you also have travel tickets, passport stamps, hotel bookings, etc. which coincide with the dates on these photos.

I can't really tell you whether they would ask too many questions. For a well prepared application it is usually just a couple of minutes but it could go up to even half an hour or more if they decide to interrogate in detail. Mine was just five minutes or so. But as long as your relationship is legit and all your documentation is in place, there is absolutely no need to worry.

Just face the interview with a smile and answer confidently. Treat it like a conversation rather than an interview.

Let us know how it goes. Wish you luck.

Thank you

1st american consul asked me -(biometrics here) my name and birthday, and then asked for my daughters age and said that he would then ask me since shes only 7. and then asked for my daughter's name and birthday.

2nd pinay consul - my name, birthday, fiance's name, his address and birthday, divorces and dates. nature of work. (u will hand her all the original documents such as Birth certificate(yours and son's), NBI, cenomar, AOS, 1099(if self employed) IRS and passport.

3rd american consul -(oath-taking) then started asking about my fiance's past cases. she checked if i knew all of it, didnt even ask for any proofs nor checked my photo album (but its better to be prepared)

then went to window 71 and was told to just wait for 2go text msg for our visas.

I myself found the following tip extremely useful for my GC interview:

http://www.immigrationdirect.com/immigration-articles/preparing-for-the-marriage-green-card-interview/

Also, the keys are:

+ bringing all required documents and organizing them well

+ Practicing common interview questions with your partners => Right/Wrong does not matter, it matters that you both must have the same answers.

+ Staying calm, be confident and relaxed during the interview.

Good luck!

6 AM is a good time.

Organize your documents so you not only have what they want, you have your fingertips on them. It is impressive to be able to reach into your file and pull out what they ask for in a second or so instead of flipping through pages and pages each time they ask. Tabbed dividers are a good idea for that.

Look at the interviewer and smile. Don't overdo it, but be pleasant and polite.

Have basic info at your fingertips as well, such as his full name and address. If he is divorced or had prior K-1 filings and you are asked about them, tell them that you and your fiance talked about them and you are satisfied that those things are totally in the past and that you and he are what matter to each other now.

You may be asked about his personal habits, figuring if you know him well you will know these too. Just keep smiling and confidently answer them.

Of course never lie. Lying is visa fraud, and the penalties are severe.

As for dress, wear respectful clothes. Jeans and tshirt, despite what others may tell you, are not OK. Slacks or skirt and a blouse are a better choice.

These are what my wife did, and she breezed through the whole thing.

I agree with the others.

Hidey had an early appointment also, and that is good. The consuls are not hot or tired

then. :D

Hiedy said they were all very kind and only asked a few questions, mostly to see how well

she knew me----birthdate, occupation, divorce, how many kids.

Hiedy is also traveling with her K2 2 year old son.

Best advice is to smile and be confident! The interview is really so easy. I was there with my fiancée when she had her interview, and even though they asked a lot of questions, it was more like a chat than an interview.
