Hola amigos.

My name is Kevin and I am a Washingtonian currently preparing my K1 visa petition for my Colombian fiance. Besides the form I-129F and the G-1145 to receive information regarding it's processing, what else do I need to include in the packet?

If there is more could you please list it?

Apologies if this has already been posted but I have been scouring past posts and just can't seem to find the answer I am looking for.

I do not have enough money for a lawyer so I need to get this guy right the first time.

Thanks again,

~Kevin

P.S. Also, is a lawyer absolutely necessary or is it more a piece of mind kind of thing?

Hi Kevin!

Welcome to VisaJourney :)

Other than the k1 guide link, these two are also useful:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1tips

There's absolutely no need to hire a lawyer, just follow the guides. This forum is also a great place full of people who've been through the process and know a lot about it so you can always find help here.

Lawyers can be useful but many members here who hired a lawyer got an RFE (request for further evidence) due to their lawyer not preparing the petition properly. It's up to you and your fiance though.

Good luck and be patient because this process can be long and frustrating :)

Another question for you two. How do I post another topic. I discovered how to do it the other day when I posted this last question but I can't seem to locate it again?

I have so many questions to post this is killing me, haha.

However, before you start another topic, please try to use the Google custom search first. Any other questions you have may have been asked and answered on other threads already.
