After, 4 months of administrative processing I got a call from the consulate and they told me that they are returning my petition to the department of home land security's United States Citizen and Immigration Service (USCIS) for a review.

I'm so sad that I can't be with my other half. Can anybody tell me what we should do? please and thank you.

Nothing you can do but wait now and see will USCIS back up what the embassy says and revoke your petition or if they will either reaffirm your petition and send back to embassy for 2nd interview or ask for evidence after you get the list of denial points and they review and d\either deny or review.

Sorry to hear that, I dont know how they work, in my case they sent back my passport after 5 months in ap and a letter saying that the case is on ap, that is all.

They didnt say that the case was sent back to uscis or denied, only that is in ap.

i dont know why the deparment of state do that to people.

They called me to come to the consulate and i did then they told me to go back home and wait for the call. when i got back home the consulate called again and they asked me to come so i did, the consular gave me back my passport and told me that they were returning my petition back to USCIS for a review... I was in shock cuz i didnt expect so.

Does anybody know how long this review takes? or if i can hire a lawyer or anything that i can do?

I don't think you need to hire a lawyer. Just like what Dhweels posted earlier, you'll have to wait for the consulate to send your file back to USCIS and USCIS will contact the petitioner, they'll either revoke or reaffirm and send it back to the consulate.

It can take few weeks to few months for the review. But I'll suggest you email the consulate after few weeks to ask if your file have been shipped to USCIS.
