Ok so after they changed the law. citizen can file a 601a for that person in the U.S. So they can get the waiver done here inside the U.S...... Every one else has to file a regular 601 outside the U.S. I don't think the form 601a existed before they changed the law. And everyone had to file a 601.

We are I601A approved also, case complete 3/23 waiting to interview scheduling (which is taking FOREVER). Been looking for a clear consensus out there of what the "experience" and wait time will be (if any longer than normal) if approved to have Visa in hand. Read many different experiences. Fingers crossed! :clock:

I agree. Those two are different process and some information can get some people confused. Thank you LoveMyTico.

Hi ya'll! New here to this thread. My hubby and I filed the i601 waiver on October 16, 2014. We are waiting to hear any day now :/ so anxious! I have heard of lots of other cases getting responses around that date and even after... So hopefully we hear something soon! Has anyone been approved lately?? Now that six months have passed can I call and make a service request? It won't let me do it online- says that we are still within the normal processing time. Thanks in advance for any help/clarification!!

I would suggest getting your senators office to make an inquiry. They can get more detailed info that you'll ever get from the USCIS. The beneficiary has to sign a release since its his waiver. The USCIS is strict when it comes to giving out info. And I don't know why you waited so long. I thought waiver processing time was 4 months..although I haven't really checked lately. Good luck. I hope you get the approval soon

Good afternoon, plz am getting my waiver ready to send off, am a little confused as my lawyer is telling me that I can fill the waiver here in the uk. But I thought all the waivers are sent to UCIS. Please can someone help me on this because am confused, my lawyer is sending everything to me here in UK to send it off to the US EMBASSY. I don't want to waste any more time, because my old lawyer wasted my two months for nothing. All help will be appreciated. Thanks

This is the greatest lesson a child can learn. It is the greatest lesson anyone can learn. It has been the greatest lesson I have learned: if you persevere, stick w/it, work @ it, you have a real opportunity to achieve something. Sure, there will be storms along the way. And you might not reach your goal right away. But if you do your best and keep a true compass, you'll get there. Edward M. Kennedy,

AP is what it is. Sometimes it takes 24 hours, sometimes it takes years. They are probably doing extra checks. Maybe something came up. Who knows. But at least you know the next step is "issued". Our AP was only one day. Not even 24 hours. Ot all depends on your embassy

On the dept of state site says most AP is resolved within 60 days but it may take longer. We were stuck on it for 45 days without hearing anything from the embassy just be hopeful and you can ask for updates after 60 days.

Be thankful there wasn't another interview. Nothing about this process is straight forward. Its different with everyone. My husband didn't have a second interview. He just went and dropped off his passport and new medical And police report. A few days later they called him to come pick up his visa. Some people have to go through another interview and present more evidence. Thank god you're almost finished
