There really isn't a current thread for progress updates for the I-601 waivers. I wanted to start a thread where everyone can just post their progress. If everyone could create a timeline and put it in their signature it would really be helpful. It doesn't matter when you filed. Any reported progress really helps everyone along the journey !!

Some ppl are getting approvals in 90 days , some are waiting

14 mths and not everyone is inclined to give specific dates as

no 2 cases are alike , there are hooks & curves, however a

timeline does give ppl an idea when they MAY be getting a decision

NSC process seem to have speed up a bit

Our waiver was originally sent on August 8th but YET AGAIN our lawyer made another huge mistake. HIs associate sent a check for the wrong amount, so our original waiver was rejected for that reason. Thank GOD I am such a pain in the rear-end and bugged the lawyers office about the case number and NOA1 otherwise they would not have checked and noticed the USCIS did not cash their check. SOOOO they sent another waiver package on August 21st ( another 2 weeks LOST) and I finally got a text message with our case number on August 26th. Yesterday they received the first waiver back from the USCIS. Thankfully the second package was already sent and accepted. I would have been even more angry if they didn't realize the mistake until yesterday. This is another perfect example of how you can't trust the lawyers and you need to stay on top of them. Since our regular attorney was on vacation when the waiver was originally mailed, the other attorney in the office cut a check for the waiver application fee and a biometrics fee. The regular I-601 doesn't require a biometrics fee. It was a sloppy mistake and yet again we are paying for their mistake.

Our waiver is a simple case. We only have a simple overstay with no other issues. No deportation, no voluntary departure, and no criminal history whatsoever.

I have been noticing that NSC is transferring the -130s to other facilities. I hope that frees up the waiver adjudicators so the can approve faster.

Wishful thinking ..... I know

Our lawyer sent our waiver on August 8th, arrived at the Phoenix Lockbox August 11th. I didn't hear anything so I bugged my lawyer 100 times to check for me. Come to find out, Lawyer sent wrong fee so the waiver was rejected. Lawyer sent new Waiver August 21st, Received at Phoenix Lockbox August 22nd. August 26th I finally receive a text and email with acceptance and case number. Lawyer calls to request an expedite on August 27th and gets a confirmation code. So to this ...date, none of us have received the NOA1 in the mail. And it gets even better... I am still not able to check status on the USCIS website AND I called and talked to an operator and she said I have to wait 30-45 days.... I explained that the lawyer requested an expedite and the 5 day waiting period is up tomorrow but I am worried because we haven't gotten the NOA1 and the website says the case number does not exist. I have been doing this immigration thing for just about 17 months. I know the drill but this just seems a little odd to me. Shouldn't the case number be in the system by now??? at the very least????? And being the petitioner gets me nowhere with the operators.... Such a dumb rule ..

  • 3 weeks later...

My husband's I-601 waiver was accepted July 29, 2014 @ Nebraska. Since it was for my husband's waiver, USCIS cannot give me an update over the phone. They said that my husband has to call, but he is in the Philippines. Tis is so frustrating and by reading the thread on waivers, it gives us a little hope. Is there anyone here knows what the current processing date is? I'm not sure who to believe, someone posted an approval on a June acceptance and many are waiting longer than that. Any feedback will be highly appreciated. Thank you all.

I do a three-way call with the USCIS and my husband in Costa Rica. It works well because my phone plan allows me to call my husband's landline for free. It is frustrating that I can't call. I have seen approvals coming in Around 3.5-4 months. Are you able to track your case on the USCIS website? Our waiver was accepted August 26th but I'm still not able to check the case on their website.

No not after a denial, but sometimes

no response then it happens, they have

gotten a bit harder on expedites, too many

ppl applying to jump the line they say, also

it helps to slow down adjudications since they

have to stop, check out the proofs & case,

four mths is now a reasonable wait time ,

but who knows if they will slow down again ,

just stay positive

It is even frustrating for me because I am in such a minority. Almost 99 percent of the people here all filed their waivers overseas, so I have no one to give me feedback,,,My case is rare on this forum.

Ok, we will try that. Thank you. Yes, I signed him up on email and text, but not knowing all the update like I used to do before on the petition is just so frustrating . Waiting for any correspondence in the Philippines will take dble the time waiting here, knowing how slow the mailing system over there. Right now on the website, ours is showing "Intial Review". Please update us of any news on this issue, if you hear anything. That'll be highly appreciated. Thanks again...

that is really weird... Ours showed up as soon as I got a text from them that they have accepted our I-601. Did you guys ask them why it's not showing on line? I can only guess that whoever is doing the data entry over there missed your paperworks...
