I got my visa freshly at hand.. I love what it says on the plastic "Important and Urgent" Thank You so much all Vj'ers for all the replies and gotta say i love this forum.. More power and Thanks also to Hank.. you have helped a lot.

So my visa will expire on Oct 10, Ive heard that there's a fee for the green card of $150+ before you get to US.. Is that applicable to K1 visa as well? Thank you!

Congrats!! :dancing::dance:

There is not a $150 fee with the K-1 to get a green card. The Adjustment of Status (AOS) process is $1070, which you complete after you are married.

You must of completed your medical a few months back if you visa expires Oct 10th.

The green card / immigrant fee is for immigrant visa holders only, not K1s. Check the K1 flowchart here for the steps you need to take: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

- You are now at Step #14.

You need to do AOS (Step #21), as mentioned by Hank. VJ guide here for more info: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

Congrats! and very very soon, welcome to USA! :dancing:

The fee you were thinking of does not apply to K-1, but you must do AOS filing once you are married here in USA. Deadling for filing = 90 days after your arrival, and fee on that is $1070.00

DId you do the CFO? No mention of that here; just wanted to make sure.

Your visa was invalidated the second you cleared POE. Your legal status for being in the USA now is the I-94 (90 days).

You must marry within 90 days of POE.

Thanks for the quick responds. That's what I know but my sis was freaking out when she saw my visa validity. Now I have something to show to her. Thanks again hank!
