Hello, Just asking if who will be the one to call NVC, the petitioner or beneficiary?

I am the beneficiary, from Philippines.

When my fiance (USC) received NOA2, I sent email to NVC to ask my MNL# but up to now no replied yet. I read some threads that you have to call than email. How much the cost if calling from Philippines?

Thank you

Either way, you or fiancé. Be ready with all information are needed like birth of date from beneficiary and petitioner and full names of both.

Usually the petitioner will call...is there a reason why your fiance isn't calling???

There is a number that you can call...no idea what it will cost you...and, you will be on hold for a long time! Tell your fiance to get busy! Best time to call is from 6 PM to midnight...yup they do answer the phones until midnight.

NVC will not reply to email requests for case numbers...and, you can't check status online either...

Most communication with NVC is by phone until they're ready to send your packet to Manila...

They're a bit backed up right now...don't know when your petition was sent to NVC...but, allow about 10 days before trying to get MNL...perhaps longer...

Petitioner should be the one calling. And it takes persistence. Keep redialing the phone number until you get put on hold, then wait and wait until someone finally answers. You won't get an email answer for probably a month, at least that's what it took for my reply. Which was long, long after I got the MNL# over the phone.

Hi yanyan, you can call them using magic jack, what we did with my fiance is we both called them at the same time,7:30 pm here in the Philippines and 7:30am eastern time, We are able to get our case number after 8 business days from the day we received our noa2 hardcopy. Try to call them if fiance is busy, you can't wait for the Manila embassy to send you a letter, it will take months Goodluck

Thank you

Until the MNL # has been issued they will not respond with the MNL #. Plus you need to include the required information in your email.

Your fiance can call from the USA... relax.

Since my fiance is so busy with work, I, as the beneficiary called the NVC and ask for the MNL number .I bought skype credits. You would be surprised how cheap the call is. For spending more than 30 minutes, it only cost me $1.25 but of course, you have to pay for the $10 minimum skype credit but you can call your hubby on his phone anytime. :dancing:

and don't forget to call the NVC 7:30 in the morning (U.S time)

I was the beneficiary and I called NVC, I used suncell for 2php per minute. They usually have long hold so call them around 11:50am Manila time, that is 10 minutes before they close. If you have a smart, then just register for the 2.50 per minute, same with globe., Smart has 1.50 per minute too but it expires in 30 days and that is one time registration for 300php.

Hope this helps.

I was the beneficiary and I was the one who called NVC for updates. I used the Magic Jack app. You'll need to have the case number and other info to get updated on your case. If no case number yet, use USCIS receipt number to ask if they have your file or if they've assigned a case number already.

They reply to emails. However, they only respond when the case number (MNL#) is assigned and they have completed the processing of the petition.
