I responded to the email faxing proof of a company offering me a job (Headed letter from the regional manager) within 2 hours of receiving the email. I then today 08/22/14 called the USCIS on the 1-800 number i used to expedite my case. Just merely to confirm they had received my fax, I then got a lady on the phone who said to me, it will take up to 5 days, if i dont hear anything it means it is taking longer, and there is no need to call back. I then asked again if they had received my fax and the lady just said follow the instructions on the email. I gave up with her, thanked her for her time and ended the call.

Can anyone tell me what i could do about this??? Just play the waiting game as today marks day 5, Or does the days reset again once i sent the fax?

Any advice would be helpful, The reason i am asking this is i have looked at other links on this forum and have not found anything that answers my questions really.

Thanks again,

Anthony :D

I have no experience in this, but my logic tells me that a formal written request for expedite would include proof of wife's termination and proof of a new born child (financial hardship) and proof of a job offer for you. And I think until they have something to evaluate the time clock doesn't start. So I wouldn't count on your phone call as being Day 1.

As far as the customer service rep who you spoke to later....What are the chances she sits by the fax machine and knows your fax arrived? She gave you all the info her scripts says. A fax machine normally confirms if a fax sends or fails. If you got positive confirmation from the machine, then assume it arrived and you will hear something soon.

Good luck.

Did you fax it with a note or header page (your A# or Case number) on top of your pages? A copy of the email? If you didn't, it is pretty sure they have no idea what it is about. Expedition won't take long to process, otherwise it is not an expedition. Your case is on a table of an assigned officer right now, that's why 1-800 people has no idea where your file is, so they give you a general answer.

I would suggest you fax it again with the email as your header. Write down Name, A#, case number MSC on right top of every page. Good luck.

Silly question. If they have received it and it is on the officers desk would it not annoy him to receive it twice? I appreciate all you are saying and I do not mean this in any ill way

Well how about an irresponsible employee might have come and saw your fax pages but addressed to no one, and he/she was too busy to be kind enough to ask around whom those pages address to. Then he/she put it aside to wait or use the fax machine. So your pages have been unclaimed until now. Well just my opinion. Your choice then.

I just received and email from the USCIS around 20 mins ago stating my EAD has gone into production. So there you have it guys my expedite request was accepted and for this who are curios I did this myself (with advice from you guys on VJ) no help of the congressman I just called and chose financial loss. Two days later I got an email asking for proof at that time I asked my boss (first job in the states) to make me a headed letter stating I had a KOB offer. She did which I faxed to the USCIS with a separate sheet affixed to the attention of the correct person. And now a week later from sending that information I was approved the expedite.

Thank you to everyone on VJ for your help and good luck to everyone trying this process I hope this thread I started will help a lot of people.
