Background check, background check? What does it mean ? No one can give me a straight answer. We have no criminal records we are hard working couple. .

I've been waiting on my Noa2. I filed in December 2013... I keep getting the same answers from the call centers and via email..Also my senator got involve and called CSC, their response were the same of what they told me back around check !!!! Should I call them once a week to bug them about my case?

Last email from them was sent August 19, 2014:

Thank you for your inquiry. The processing time for your case is delayed because required background checks remain pending. Until we receive the results of these background checks, we cannot move forward on your case. Please be assured that we will make every effort to make a decision on your case as soon as the background checks are complete.

Yes I'm still waiting like you, I filed in January. But if it takes more than reasonable period of time and USCIS fails to make a decision on your case and also refuses to let you know how long they need. Then you have the right to file for Writ of Mandamus. I mean otherwise what are you supposed to wait for how long until someone decides to do his job and work on the case ?

There is also the option of contacting the ombudsman which should be tried before I think.

I don't know what else I can do to get a reasonable answer about why my background check is taking so long. I even email the big chiefs with no reasonable answers. Read below

Associate director for service center operations:

donald.W.neufeld@uscis.dhs.gov

Chief of operation/staff:

susan.k.arroyo@uscis.dhs.gov

Office of ombudsman:

cisombudsman@dhs.gov

All I can do is keep praying:)

CSC and Phillipine has been the express train...so that makes it even more surprising.

When my son had to get FBI background check to apply for an overseas internship job,

it took forever...like 4 to 5 months, and he barely made the deadline.

Did you have any complication that you can think of in your background?

Hope things speed up very soon...

I wonder what it is...what could possibly be the reason why only few of us are taking so long...

they are processing march fillers already! and this is getting ridiculous!

is there a reason that crosses your mind and could be something suspiscious to the officers?

We all must have something in common that makes us go under background check for so long (I dont know if my case is, just assuming)

I've tried to think in all possibilities..and I have nothing...

maybe cause my fiance was a volunteer worker for 2 years and didn't have any income while volunteering? or cause I have dual citizenship? or cause I deleted facebook and twitter just recently and uscis couldn't stalk me? hahaha...I dont know.....

I really wish we could have an insight or just a hint at least....
