How to schedule an interview in Manila...?

So we are waiting for NVC to receive our package. I've read several hundred threads about all this stuff and its starting to get confusing!!

Some posts say that WE don't schedule the interview but the NVC does. Other posts say WE schedule it and its hard to get an appointment.

Please clarify for us....and if we schedule it, is there any tricks to getting an open slot?

Another question.... is it a bad gamble/risk to schedule the interview online after receiving the DS-160 receipt but BEFORE the Embassy sends out their instruction letter?

I was able to get my MNL number two weeks after our approval and I paid the visa fee few days after that. So far, I never had difficulties in getting an appointment. I have been reading that some applicants do not receive the letter from the Embassy so I just took the advices from VJ members to just go ahead, pay and set an appointment.

You are K-1 visa, you will schedule your own interview appointment.

The embassy does not send out the instructions letter, it is online. The letter the embassy does send out (that rarely arrives) is just a letter letting you know you can start your application.

Online is the best way to schedule your appointment.

When we called the Embassy they said just print the packet 3 online

Am I missing anything?

There is much you can start to do, follow the embassy instructions letter, it lists everything that is required for the interview.

NBI (FOR TRAVEL ABROAD, green colored form), CENOMAR, NSO birth certificate are just some of the things you can start to gather.

Read the instructions letter a few different times, print out a copy and use it as your checklist:

and the Philippine specific instructions. I think my brain is just on overload due to approval being so unexpected. Would love to get her here before cold weather sets in!! The Ozark mountains are beautiful in the fall.

Hank....we haven't even begun to read about what we need to do "after" she gets here and get married. Thought I would ask you a quick question while I had your attention... Do you have to have paperwork done/filed before the 3 months in U.S. expires or can you marry the last week and start paperwork after the deadline to marry?

No you do not have to file AOS within the 90 days, you just need to be married within the 90 days of POE.
