Hi All,

I'm from Texas and Fiance is from Scotland, UK.

I submitted my K1 end of Jan. 2014 and soon after got my receipt on Feb. 7th, 2014. Was feeling GREAT!

6 months later... Haven't heard anything from anyone... no point calling USCIS, they just read off the screen (script).

I have called them 3 times, they inform me each time, "you should hear something by then, or see the updates every two weeks, if not call back." Therefore, I do and today I called... again.

The Texas Service Center will not be working on any cases after Dec. 17, 2013. Saw this online before the rude customer service worker (ID#G710815), gave me the same info and nothing more.

Makes me want to start singing that new song by Magic!... Why you have to be so rude... any-who

Just want to know if any January couples have had anything positive. Please let me know!

Thank you!

Hi there! Well, I'm a January 13 filer and just got approved last week, but I think it was due to my congressman and senator putting in inquiries. I heard nothing for 6 months either. Hang in there! Lately they've been approving a lot of January petitions (see our very happy January TSC filers thread for good stories ). Maybe you could also look at contacting your congressman/senator?

Good luck to you, I hope you get approved soon!

Our journey so far:

27 Mar '09: Met at work in Holland and started dating.

30 Nov '13: Got engaged in Scotland!

10 Jan '14: Sent I-129F package to Dallas Lockbox.

22 Jan '14: NOA1 received.

29 Jun '14: Congressman Lobiondo inquired at TSC about our case.

16 Jul '14: Senator Menendez inquired at TSC about our case.

21 Jul '14: NOA2 approved!! (180 days)

23 Jul '14: Case sent to NVC.

01 Aug '14: Received NVC case number.

07 Aug '14: Case sent to Dutch consulate.

13 Aug '14: Packet 3 received, completed the DS-160 form.

15 Aug '14: Sent Packet 3 back to the consulate.

21 Aug '14: Packet 4 received with interview date.

hi.

sorry to hear your delays.

I submitted mine K1-I129F on January 2, 2014 to Texas SC.

so not sure what is meant "Texas Service Center will not be working on any cases after December 17, 2013"

They clearly did and is continuing to…..

as you can see from my timeline…things went pretty smooth - as expected from my review of the time frame.

not sure what is happening with some of the PETITIONS to TSC

she just got interview & approved this past Friday.

Wow your timeline went by fast. So happy for y'all.

Main concern in my case would be my fiance job change, he was working in Abu Dhabi for Sept 2013 - April 2014. Now he is back in Scotland, same company. Would you think this would be a flag?

I stated he will be applying in London (part 2 I129F) in the first place.

Thanks,

Alex

Thank you.

I am still uncertain why your petition has not moved forward - perplexed ?!?!

Have you call the TSC directly - if you do call in the early morning hours immediately after they open = best chance to get thru quickly

here are perspective timeline for each STEP of this "journey" from each of the Centers

In STEP 2: from NOA1 to NOA2, It does look like Texas got a huge 'bottleneck' since Dec-Feb and the trend is not good; while California & Vermont went down and at steady state. I assumed that tTSc got a huge influx of petitions.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1historical

The job change is just location - should be fine.

More importantly, You are the petitioner & the sponsor, so later in the financial support declaration of sort, you will need to submit your job/salary/tax info/financial….. this is mainly that you will be fully responsible for him, since you are sponsoring him to the US and promise that he will not be dependent (burden) on the US system. So no problem.

Best regards !!

I have talked to USCIS support line (#1-800-375-5283) about 3 times.

First call - I was out of the processing time, which was back when it was stated that TSC processing time was 5 months. Therefore they open up a case. Below was the main part of the email.

The status of this service request is:

On 06/26/2014, you or your representative contacted USCIS concerning your I129F to notify us that you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been or may be resolved.

The processing of your I129F is within our current processing time. Please see our Web site at www.uscis.gov for processing times.

We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your continued patience.

So I called again and that's when I notest the updates on all the websites.

2nd and 3rd call - Support line keeps telling me, Now they are only working on cases before Dec. 17, 2013 (which clearly isn't true).

Your link is so helpful! So hopefully I will be hearing from them any day now about NOA2.

And about the job - that is making me so at ease now. Thank you.

Congratulations, that's awesome!

About 1 week after it was shipped to NVC you can call them to ask whether it has arrived and if they have a case nr for you. Then you can use that on the Department of State CEAC website to track your case. It will be sent to the consulate and they will then send Packet 3 with instructions to your fiance :) I don't know if you guys have started preparing the documents for the interview, but if not you could definitely start now!

Ugh, my above post won't edit but I was going to add that I meant 7 working days, not actual days, and it might still take longer.. You CAN start calling after 7 days, but it could be 2-3 weeks before they have a case number for you. In our case it was about 7 working days, but I shouldn't assume that'll be the same for everyone of course
