That's true. But still, we got these like the day they came out. I gotta think I would have upgraded mine when the opportunity came about. Every two years was what I used to do.

i have a Samsung Galaxy Note II phone thingie with a heavy duty otterbox surrounding it. Always survives a fall out of my paints. Bought it used this year, had it reprogrammed for Straight Talk Wireless and it's f'ing amazing ! Now, don't laugh at me, my prior handphone was an HTC 6800 running windows mobile 6.1, jacked over to Boost Mobile, used for 3 years with a 5 dollar 'all you can handle' international calling plan to china. I was in love with this phone, but knew I needed spares for parts, almost impossible to find it in first market shops - the 2nd and 3rd tier shops had stock and I bought 4 or 5 for 50 bucks/pop. Amazing phone, amazing software - heck I even bought a software package that turned it into a wireless router - very useful when I was out on the farm getting mucky.

Wife has an apple iPhone 5s, a must have for status amongst all of her krewe. Buying a 6 when they come out, for her. I don't do contracts with cell carriers, I just refuse. She has a decent monthly plan with Ultra Mobile.

I like my phone - it does everything I need for farm, work and school. I especially like the qq software on it - my wife and I keep in touch even when she's in the same city - I love the video call feature.

Hubs has no issues with his but I've had some with mine. It's the blue one from best buy. I keep meaning to find a verizon store and getting it fixed.
