July 18- READY

July 21- administrative processing

July 22-23 still "AP"

usually no issues a day or two. What day did they tell you to pick up Visa? It should say issue any day now.

Did your CEAC status also change from Immigrant Visa (IV) > NonImmigrant (NIV)? That is usually a good sign that it will be issued soon.

Looks like for most people it changes to issued with a week of going from Ready to NIV AP, but there really is no way to tell.

Mine took over a week to be issued, and I started getting really worried so I emailed them, and apparently there was a big computer crash that caused everything to get delayed. Sometimes things can happen that are completely out of everyone's control.

They won't tell you when, but consider this: Administrative Processing has a very bad name because many of them from high fraud countries like Pakistan take weeks or months.

But most AP processes are not like that at all. Most of them are simply the clerical work of moving your folder from the Approved pile to the Visa pile, printing the visa, gluing it on to your passport, and getting the finished product out the door.

In Manila, due to the very large number of visas they process, that whole process takes about 2 weeks, but there is some randomness to it, such that it can be 3 days, 6 weeks, or anything in between.

Just wait a little while longer. Your visa will come.

It was torture waiting for ours too. But Candy has been here now for over a month. She has her SS #, we made the Civil Surgeon appointment already, and the wedding will be in the next few weeks. Could not be happier.

If you are not given 221(g), then it's probably some minor stuff, I heard the state department has recently experienced some major IT problem which has made approving and printing visa come to a standstill worldwide. Hopefully they have fixed it now and will print out your visa and send you back your passport.

You can track your passport here
