Hi All,

I am in the CR1 immigration process and yesterday I just received an email from NVC got my case number, I filed my application in China Beijing in May. :)

As the email instructed I will need to complete the DS-260 form on this site, https://ceac.state.gov/IV

Ok I need to enter my Case Number (which i just got today) and my birth date to sign in on this page

But you know what, when I tried to log in, the below text pop out:

The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance.

We have contacted NVC and feedback from them is since this case is filed in China we will need to contact guangzhou consulate. There is definitely something wrong with my invoice id number.

I reached the general line of guangzhou consulate this morning unfortunately can't get much helpful info out of them. The woman answered my call told me there are no extension line for immigrant visa inquiry, at the same time we also emailed them reported our problem.

I wonder if anyone had the similar problem and how to solve it?

Weird. I would think NVC is truly the one at fault here as they're the ones who emailed you the case number. You could try contacting NVC again and at least tell them you don't know who to contact; that no one has been able to help you from Guangzhou.

My case hasn't run that far yet.

But i think,

1st, You should mail them to confirm the Case Number and the invoice Number is right or not.

2nd, If they are correct, you can change a browser or change a computer to try again.

3rd, If it still doesn't work, you can try to use VPN to connect the internet. There are some free VPN service in China, you can baidu them.

If you tried everything it still doesn't work. Maybe you can contact them again.

I called NVC the first thing I did, the operator over there told me that my case number does exist, somehow that they dont have access to my case, according to them, I need to contact Guangzhou. I did later on, Guangzhou confirmed that my case number and birthday are right on their record, asked me to provide with the screenshots of error I met which I did of course. Then they only emailed me to try again next week, if still doesnt work, contact them again by then.

I dont really think they know whats wrong with my case, why can't I log in as my case number and birthday are correct according to them, thats why they suggest me to give it a few days before they take actions.

Thanks, I tried them all actually but just did not work.

I have a theory is that I originally applied for CR1 because our marriage hasnt been 2 years yet until this november, however they converted it to IR1 even though still a few months away before November...if is this caused any problem with my case...

Wow, they are so careless.

Then it is NVC's fault.

Have you solved it?

Keep in touch. Let us know how you make it solved.

for china DCF,

you must have record of payment done at CITIC bank,

then make an account at ustraveldocs.com/cn filling out everything there, including the CITIC bank receipt #.

Then wait a few days - and try the DS-260 again.

payment notice is tied to availability to file the DS-260 online, but since you've not paid the IV Fee at CITIC bank, you'll be spinning your wheels deep into the mud.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I had the same error while signing into DS260..nobody was able to help me as they found it to be weird.. I asked everywhere I could.. Even sent numerous mails to ustraveldocs.com but they also had no clue so after 20 days, I was able to logged in and that's what I did

Even though in the appointment confirmation letter, principal applicabt date of birth was correct but I(principal applicant) have an correction in the DOB in my passport So i entered the incorrect DOB and guess what I was able to logged in so what I made out was even though in their records they had my correct date of birth but who so ever made the password (invoice ID) that person did all the blunder and entered wrong DOB.. So u should try different dates daily ..u can try some 5-10 attempts daily before its get temporary locked

ok I am able to log in since this Monday, yahhhhhh.

Filled out the Form DS260, whats the next?

and what is really confusing is the below text, what exactly do I need to submit the next? only the document submission letter or along with all the materials such as marriage certificate, birth certificate, police record and everything?

  1. Please print the “Document Submission Letter” at http://ustraveldocs.com/cn/DocumentSubmissionLetter_IV.pdf . Complete and submit the Document Submission Letter along with the above requested items at the nearest CITIC Bank. Failure to take the requested action within one year will result in your application being terminated.
