Hi everyone, and thanks for contributing to this amazing resource.

I'm DCF in the UK for a Spousal Green Card.

My Sponsors are my Wife who is the petitioner (returning resident to the US after 12 years in the UK) and her mother ( A naturalised American, who has been a citizen for over 30 years.

Both of my sponsors have filed their tax returns for 2012, but both have received extensions for their 2013 return which they intend to complete by October.

My Question :-

For my 1864 - Will their tax returns for 2012 suffice as the primary full tax return, or do they need to file their return for 2013 in advance of me going to my interview (even though they have extensions ?)

Many thanks for your help.

Jonny

I also filed an extension for 2013 taxes.

When we filed the I-864 we submitted the following documents:

2011 tax transcripts

2012 tax transcripts

2013 tax extension ( copy of form 4868) with copy of 2013 w-2

6 months worth of pay stubs

employment letter

This worked for us. My wife's visa was approved today.

I would recommend you doing the same. The only thing I would add is if you have a large sum of money in a bank, then I would add the bank statement.

Good luck!!!

Roger
